Understanding Resin: The Key to Progress

In Genshin Impact, Original Resin is the energy source you use to claim rewards from Ley Line Outcrops, Abyssal Domains, Weekly Bosses, and Elite Bosses. Managing it efficiently is crucial for character progression.

Types of Resin & How to Use Them

Condensed Resin

This is your best friend for efficient farming. You can craft Condensed Resin at an Alchemy Bench using 40 Original Resin and 1 Crystal Core. It allows you to claim double rewards from Domains and Ley Lines for a single run. You can hold a maximum of 5 Condensed Resin at a time. It's the best way to spend resin if you don't have much time to play.

Fragile Resin & Transient Resin

These are consumable items that instantly restore 60 Original Resin. Fragile Resin is obtained from Adventure Rank rewards, the Battle Pass, and promotional events. Transient Resin can be bought from the Realm Depot in your Serenitea Pot, but it expires after a week. Use them wisely, typically for farming limited-time events or when you desperately need materials for a new character.

FAQ: Common Resin Questions

Q: What's the best daily resin priority?
A: Generally, prioritize Weekly Bosses (only the first three have a discounted cost), then limited-time events, then farm materials or artifacts your characters currently need the most.
Q: Should I use Primogems to refresh resin?
A: For most free-to-play or low-spending players, it's not recommended. Primogems are better saved for character wishes. Refreshing resin is typically for high-spending players ("whales") who need to speed up their progress.
